A reminder before the busy moment
Put the cue where students can use it.
Grades K–5. Useful before a transition or a familiar shared activity.
Try this starting point
- Identify a moment when students will need a familiar expectation.
- Give a short, specific reminder immediately before it, using the language you have already taught.
- Afterward, reflect on whether the cue was understandable and change it if needed.
Keep in mind
- Avoid public warnings aimed at one student.
- A reminder cannot replace explicit teaching of an unfamiliar routine.
